Flowing with the Spirit Weekend Journal

My friend, Michelle Winter, kept talking about a book she was reading. Well, not reading in the usual way, but mulling over, going back, writing, responding etc. She inspired me to check it out from the library, and experienced what she meant. The book is:

Water, Wind, Earth & Fire, The Christian Practice of Praying with the Elements

, by

Christine Valters Paintner

. In addition to her own writing, she draws prayers and quotations from many sources. This journal is my response and expression of the experience of going through the "Wind" section of the book. I challenged myself to integrate the pages even more than usual, to feel like a flow which goes with my theme this year: "Let go, Grow, and go with the Flow, the flow of the Spirit."

Flow Journal Cover

In this weekend journal Christine Valters Paintner's

Blessing of the Wind

 is quoted.

This first spread above shows the first stanza, the second stanza is in the journal page below:

"Spirit of Creation,

in the beginning you blew over the waters,

coaxing

the earth up from the depths of the sea,

and inviting all creatures to rise up on their own wings.

Spirit of Renewing LIfe,

you breathed into me in my very first moment,

invigorate me with your gift of

energy and newness.

Continue to breathe expansively in me,

inviting me to a vision for what is possible in my life."
