Speaking at Sonrise Church Women’s Retreat

Last weekend I was the speaker at Sonrise Church Women’s Retreat at Twin Rocks Retreat Center in Rockaway Beach, Oregon. It was a lovely time connecting with women and God in a deeper way, and one of those times where you knew God was at work. The worship team picked songs that were the perfect pairing to what I was speaking on ….

This was the first time I had given that type of message in that venue with art slides to go along with the story. The theme was Drawing Near – Finding Jesus in Your Story. We began by learning more about the woman at the well and putting ourselves in her shoes, encountering Jesus, and sharing our stories. I love the story of the woman at the well, the longest one-on-one conversation with Jesus recorded in the Bible. A number of years ago, I made an art journal about it and included the images in the presentations.

In the morning session we walked through a visual prayer found in the new Prayerful Doodling book based on St. Ignatian’s Daily Examen prayer.

After the morning session, my friend Lori, with my daughter Merri and I prayed for Cindy, who had been injured in a car accident. And God healed her! She left the retreat without her knee brace and without pain, after a walk on the beach. What celebration! I feel honored and grateful to have been a part. Here are a few photos of our time together at the retreat.

Happy May!

Blessings of Hope, Joy, and Creativity!
