Washi Tape Adventure #1 - Fun Ways to Use Washi Tape
Do you collect Washi tape? Do you wonder what to do with it?
I used to laugh at friends who seemed to collect these colorful rolls of tape and I'd ask what they do with it. Then a friend gave me a set of rolls and I began to use some of the tape in my everyday journal. It was great because the tape was easy to reposition, stick down, and didn't tear the paper.
That is how I became one of those Washi tape people. In order for me to justify my purchasing Washi tape and taking up the space to store it, I knew I needed to use it. So this year one of my goals is to explore unique ways of using Washi tape as an art medium.
Ways to Use Washi Tape
Washi tape is a great way to separate quotes in a journal.
Washi tape candles can make messages special in: cards, calendars, tags, gifts
Like last month's calendar, I've used Washi tape to add shapes and borders.
All the hearts are cut from Washi tape.
Use Washi Tape to Embellish Cards
You can use Washi tape to frame the edges of handmade cards. Thin tapes were used for the patterned lines going across the nesting dolls above. On the card below, a strip of Washi tape on the post of the sign and the edges adds pattern and color to the birthday sign.
Simple Washi Tape Squares Make Special Pages
It's amazing how a small cut squares can add pizzazz to a page.
It's also fun to do with friends. My friend Kim and I have Washi Tape Adventures: Sometimes we just need to play and have art making fun. Washi tape is an easy way to make something special.
