Washi Tape Adventure #3 in My Calendar Journal

The Wonders of Washi Tape in My Calendar Journal

With the busyness of March and April, I didn't have a lot of time to make a calendar page for my Everyday-Word of the Year Journal. I continued using my Mid-Century Modern stencil and decided to use Washi tape to its fullest....

Here below is a beginning of the page, drawn with a Micron pen. You see I started with a narrow piece of Washi tape, but its pattern got lost with what I added on to it, so I took it up and replaced it with the darker teal and then outlined the months word banner with a similar color using colored pencil. Oh the beauty of repositional tape!

With a small pair of scissors I cut triangles to make the Washi tape flags on the vertical sign. I colored the main calendar area with Gelatos®.

I then moved to decorating the top of the page with more "flags" that now look like part hats. The little dandelion shaped bursts at the top add to the party feel. Each of them was cut from a Washi tape border (shown along the right edge of the calendar.

The big starburst at the beginning is part of the Mid-Century Modern stencil outlined in pen, stenciled with a Gelato and colored outside with a colored pencil.

The stars cut from a roll of Washi tape continue to mark and celebrate the family birthdays.

I hope you enjoyed this lighthearted post and are inspired to play!

Next time I'll be posting more about setting up my new journal for 2019

May you have a blessed and fruitful New Year!

Love,
Valerie
