July - Celebrating a New Season - Stencil Club - Calendar
July Happenings!
Mid-Century Modern Stencil Club Released!
I'm having so much fun creating Mid-Century Modern art! The above little acrylic paintings without words were done with the Rex Ray-esque stencils I designed for Stencil Club. They are the Stencil Club project that includes a video and pdf lesson, exclusive to members of Stencil Club.
The paintings with words were done with the Stencil Club stencils along with the banner Mid-Century Modern Stencil. I hand lettered the words in the banner shapes.
July Calendar & Washi Tape Adventure #5!
Making the monthly calendar in a Leuchtturm1917 journal continues to be a pleasure. This month is going fast so I didn't have a lot of time to spend on my calendar. I used my Mid-Century Modern Stencil as a holder for July's name and then simply drew the calendar with a Micron pen and colored it with Gelatos. I drew the July letters and firework doodles, and colored them with colored pencils. To the rest of the page I added Washi tape. Fun!
Celebrating Freedom!
The 4th of July, Independence Day here in the USA, was a happy celebration. I always feel a bit teary at our local Hillsboro 4th of a July parade. It’s one of those rare times when we celebrate our freedom, support and express our various views, and come together having fun and focusing on what we share in common by loving our neighbors and families. Here's a few photos from our celebration.
This is definitely a new season for me. Not the restful summer I imagined, but pleasantly full of people and projects. A little overwhelming at times, but I am being intentional about being thankful, giving grace to myself and others for "dropped balls," and mindful of seeking what is important during this season.
