Happy Thanksgiving! And a gathering of like-hearted spirits...

I know it's not Thanksgiving in all the countries, but it seems to me, being thankful anytime is in season, so Happy Thanksgiving.

It happened to me just this week, the wave of sadness. Sometimes it happens and there are two things I am being intentional about doing when it happens. One is to write down what I am thankful for in my journal. The other is to ask, "Why do I feel sad (or the emotion of the moment)?" It may be the state of the world, my own shortcomings, or the brokenness of relationships etc. Then I imagine holding the sadness in my hands, bringing it, to God, just as I am.  Then the most amazing thing happened. God's love broke through. There was just the right message in my email the next morning, an encouraging conversation, and my heavy heart lifted and God gave me joy in place of sorrow. I am grateful to God for His love for me. I am also thankful for those who love me.

There may even be relaxation time this Thanksgiving to color my gratitude coloring page from Colorful Blessings coloring book, coming out in February.

One of the blessings of the week was a gathering with Rebekah Jones and her local Bible Journaling friends. What a treat to meet Rebekah in person and have a chance to share with one another! Chris, who I met at one of my weekend workshops, was there and we had the pleasure of catching up on some creative adventures. I also got to meet new friends... a good beginning. Thank you for stopping by today!

Many blessings to you!
