"Suddenlies" of Good Times... Good News...

Suddenly Family Fun

I thought it would be a good idea to give you a bit of a personal update. I have been more scarce than usual online, and here is why. There have been some "suddenlies" that have come as pleasant surprises and sweet answers to prayer.

Our two grandsons from Texas came to stay with us for 10 days and we spent wonderful times with our family. We had the best time together!

August has ended up being an amazing family focused month and will continue through the end of this month with our anniversary, a wedding, and as family from all over the globe converge at the place of our roots in the Pacific Northwest. It is a gorgeous time of year here and it is clear God is bringing our family together like never before and I am so grateful.

During the summers of 2015- 2017, I had deadlines and big projects to work on. I had high hopes attached to hard work. A number of things ended in disappointment and hardship. On the other hand, the things I didn’t work so hard on, but took joy in, and merely asking a question, have brought new ideas, relationships, peace and success. It got me thinking and asking God about how I should look at my efforts in this season. I want to cooperate with God, listen and make choices to go with His plan. I'm letting go....

Through this process of spending quiet time with God, listening and taking pressure off of myself, I feel led to take a type of sabbatical. It may include taking a break from regular blogging through September. For the remainder of this year, as I celebrate being present in the moment with who I'm with, I will still post installments for the A-Z of Mystery, and blog out of a place of rest and play. I feel open-handed and open-hearted. It feels good... Here is my theme Scripture for this time:

“Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion?Come to me. Get away with me and you’ll recover your life.I’ll show you how to take a real rest.Walk with me and work with me—watch how I do it.Learn the unforced rhythms of grace.I won’t lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you.Keep company with me and you’ll learn to live freely and lightly.”

Matthew 11:28-30 The Message
