Living in Unity - U in A-Z Challenge

Seeking unity with one another is a worthwhile pursuit

Unity - the state of being joined together; being made one; a condition of harmony; being whole.

“God, you have bound us together in a common life.
Help us in the midst of our struggles for justice and truth,
to confront one another without hatred or bitterness,
and to work together with mutual forbearance and respect;
through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.”

- From the Book of Common Prayer

Scripture

“…live a life worthy of the calling you have received.
Be completely humble and gentle;
be patient, bearing with one another in love.
Make every effort to keep the unity
of the Spirit through the bond of peace.”

- Ephesians 4:1-3

Jesus prayed for his followers:

“I am praying not only for these disciples but also for all who will ever believe in me through their message. I pray that they will all be one, just as you and I are one—as you are in me, Father, and I am in you. And may they be in us so that the world will believe you sent me.

I have given them the glory you gave me, so they may be one as we are one. I am in them and you are in me. May they experience such perfect unity that the world will know that you sent me and that you love them as much as you love me.”

- John 17:20-23 NLT

“how wonderful it is, how pleasant,
for God’s people to live together in harmony.”

- Psalm 133:1 GNT

Questions to Consider

  • How can I be a peacemaker and nurture unity with those I live with and encounter?

  • How can I draw closer to God?

  • Are there any changes I need to make in order to gain more peace in my life?

Grace & Peace to you this day
