The 100 Day Project - Days 59-70

The 100 day project …

These pages surprised me. As I painted the 12 entries, between the fourth and fifth entries, the process felt more free, dropping in color without any thought of what the outcome might be. It reflects my need to stop second-guessing myself so much, and just move forward with the process with joy, believing it will turn out okay.

Art reflects life!

Part of this new found freedom must be in the making of 50+ entries. One out of 70 little paintings isn't as crucial as one out of four. The process is inspiring a new phase of learning, experimenting … and who knows where that will lead?

To be honest, I can apply this to the rest of my life right now. I am a true believer that we should never stop learning and growing.

If you’ve been following my 100 day posts, I normally post 8 entries. This time 12 are featured. One reason is, in my opinion, is because of the change ibetween the first and second pages. Normally I wouldn’t deviate from my 8-entry post plan, but this project is freeing me up to be looser and go with the flow in my blogging too.

I sense more experimenting in the upcoming entries…

My takeaway so far:

The more I practice, the more I can do with less effort.

Of course that takeaway is obvious, but sometimes it helps to have a tangible example.

The top left square, in the photo below, stumped me a bit, but when I came back to it, I ‘saw’ a little house from a bird’s-eye point of view. I decided to go with it since I couldn’t ‘unsee’ it.

These days, since I’m focusing on the garden, companion planting and pollinators, I’m noticing centers of flowers and am in awe of the intricate beauty in one bloom.
