Theme Journals in Dry Media - Dot & Grid journals
A-Z of Mystery & Meaning
An alphabet theme journal reflecting the mystery and meaning of life. Art making with simple materials like a dotted journal, pencil, pen, and colored pencils allow me to focus on more than content, also on design, lettering, and color combinations. I enjoy using text as a design element. This type of a journal is great for experimenting and then serves as a creative resource for design, and a spiritual resource of encouraging words and truth. These journal pages were done in a grid Moleskine journal.
An ‘A-Z of Me’ in Moleskine grid journal
When I made these pages, I didn’t have time to do an art journal with wet and mixed media, but I wanted to be a part of Bernice’s online ‘A-Z of Me’ journal group. It was so open-ended I was able to be inspired by the prompts given, but go about it in my own way, in a grid Moleskine journal. It went with me everywhere and I found myself working on it as I went through daily life. I kept a Ziploc bag of pencils, pens, glue stick scissors and scraps of paper. The process has inspired my art and life journaling.
