Starting a Visual Prayer with a Scribble

One way to start the art part of a visual prayer is to scribble how you feel with your eyes closed, and go from there. I thought there wasn't a way to find meaning in or redeem the original scribble.  The process of this visual prayer felt like connecting random things in search of meaning. It grew, evolved and reached beyond the boundaries of the page. The swirls bothered me and I added more curved lines to them and they turned into roses. An atmosphere of a garden was taking shape, a coming outside the box, and a feeling of making a mess of things. I needed to add color. It defined the shapes and pushed the rest into the background. Priorities. The roses, my children. the cross and trinity at the center. The most troublesome part for me was the shape growing up from the bottom. It had a large distracting scribble, but by adding connecting lines it became more organic and connected to the whole. It symbolizes me growing to adapt to a new season of life, becoming older and bolder, wanting to be wise in my relationships. Even though I'm unsure of what's next at this point in life I need to trust God for the process and the results.
