The Story Behind the Art of Colorful Blessings

We each have a story to tell, and our stories relate to one another. Every person is significant. In the just released

Colorful Blessings

coloring book, the pages give a glimpse into my story expressed through line. They are waiting to be colored, to connect with your story. Here, are some of the stories behind the coloring pages in the

Colorful Blessing

coloring book.

The cover of Colorful Blessings went through a number of changes as I worked through the process with the publisher, Taunton Press. This is what we agreed on and I think it reflects the style of the book well. The coloring page that inspired the cover came from my "Fun" journal, a little journal that began as a demo in one of my 2-day Art Journaling workshops. My focus was on the wonder found in gratitude. It was fun!

The Gratitude coloring page was inspired by the Gratitude Journal. This journal is one of my favorites. Back in 2012, it was the first journal I made while in an online art journaling group led by Bernice Hopper, "An Attitude of Gratitude." Hope is one of those things I believe is essential to living. I used to struggle with depression and despair quite a bit. A number of years ago, I began an exchange of despair for hope. I am so grateful! The message of this coloring page means a lot to me. It was inspired by the smaller 2-day workshop journal on the left, which inspired an online art journaling workshop series. I demonstrate my art journaling techniques in online classes, working in the Hope journal on the right. For more information about online art journaling classes please visit:
