Letting Go... Release in this Season...

It is a beautiful autumn here in the Pacific Northwest. As I walked with my daughter and grand-daughter in a nearby park recently, the leaves falling and dancing to the ground reminded me to let go of what no longer serves me well. It has been a year of letting go of expectations, understanding life and death, my dreams and ideas, putting me in a posture of listening, waiting, walking through the open door, past the closed ones. Trusting...

Moved by the color of sweet surrender dancing to the ground, accepting the new season with hope and joy, I enjoy the moment, seeing through the eyes of a smiling child who doesn't forget to look up and enthusiastically points out the hidden duck in the reeds where the reflection of the fall sky shimmers bright and fluttery

I see my shadow, me yet not me, looking like the past in the midst of fallen leaves. It's time to move on, not sit and wonder why.

In my everyday-calendar journal I begin to revisit my word of the year FREE as in FREEDOM with my new StencilGirl Products stencils (L575) with the word release. Grateful for a dry medium and looks similar to paint, I stencil the woman silhouette and the word "Release" in a circle with Gelatos® (from the Iridescents set.) Releasing in order to receive. Freedom has had its price, the paradoxical cost of dying to self in order to become more of who I am made to be.  Letting go of expectations and dreams, and receiving unexpected connections and opportunities.
